“I can attest that the UH COE prepares students for the real-world field of education.”
Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Texas as a Category 1 hurricane on July 8th at 5:37 a.m.. If the Centerpoint Power Outage Map is accurate, I stand to have my power in Houston restored on July 17th. I repeat - this was a Category 1 hurricane.
Much of Houston is still without power this morning (7/11). The lives of residents continue to be at risk. Centerpoint was unprepared as well as slow to respond and continually fails to communicate accurately with Houstonians. I support Rep. Silvia Garcia’s call to investigate!
CAMPUS UPDATE: UH will remain closed Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12 as recovery continues. If you need relief from the heat, stop by the Student Center on Thurs. and Fri. b/w 10 a.m. & 6 p.m. Please continue to check on each other, and offer help when you can. #CoogsCare
@Longviewmayor @gardnerjason26 She’s a comedic politician and great at deflection, so I’ll cut her some slack. What do you know of my work. Shall we not make assumptions. The power grid in Texas is unstable. Other areas susceptible to hurricanes have invested in underground utilities.
This is the 3rd time in a year that the residents of Houston have lost power for days. Each time we experience lost work, lost wages, lost food, and what’s worse: lost lives. It’s time for our politicians and utility providers to be accountable for implementing solutions.
We’ve made it through our first year as APs with successes and challenges! We are still relying on each other to continue growing and it has made our bond stronger. Bring it Y2! #Pick6#UHGrad#CoogLeaders#MyAldine#MiAldine
Congratulations, Dr. Ruth Stephen, on the successful defense of your University of Houston dissertation, “Leading Through Crisis, Preparation, Perception, and Coping Skills of Secondary Principals.”
In his final community message, Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools, reflects on successes from the fall semester and bids farewell as he retires following a 42-year educational career: https://t.co/wD4b6SrLEa. #CFISDspirit#CFISDforAll
