@IyayiOsarenkhoe@TBKReturns But they might as well be. He mourns what could've been his life, normal childhood with his family. Instead we see him getting apples shot in his head. He's an intriguing character for sure. I'm sorry if this was long, I'm a writer and love character analysis
@IyayiOsarenkhoe@TBKReturns He is still kind even after all this. He was soft while feeding Earl last episode, even introduces himself to a plant-being. Even if he so clearly hates Hal, he still has some level of respect for him. There is grief to his character. His parents are not dead,
@12thdrac@MiloPrimera@DeadmanBostonB then you have your own experiences but don't lump us with you. Because I am a person of color as well, and if you've lived you're whole life not experiencing challenges pertaining to your color and raise. you're one of the few
@12thdrac@MiloPrimera@DeadmanBostonB cause you're probably only experiencing that from the internet. If you walk outside, alot of poc struggle because of their race. I'm not talking about all the discourse online, a lot of people make noises in here. But it's different when it's real life
@IyayiOsarenkhoe@TBKReturns And it was different too. Cause in the earlier versions of him, he was the abrasive type rather than Hal. Hal worried that the Guardians made a mistake cause he was a little too aggressively.
That's the only I can remember without pulling my comic open, soo
@IyayiOsarenkhoe@TBKReturns He was a reflection of the time he was created. He was looked-down even after all his accomplishments cause of his race. A "woke" propaganda if you will. Them giving him a childhood, a life before he was lantern is adding depth to his character
@barabashka_2@DeadmanBostonB you think teens should not think about this things? And care about flashy fights and cool superhero costumes? and, comics is not for "teen entertainment". Just cause it's rated as Teens doesn't mean— did you actually think that? Buddy.
@12thdrac@DeadmanBostonB cause some are whiny and uses their race to gain sympathy and avoid accountability. But that's not to say there aren't A LOT of Black/poc out there that experiences those prejudices but are ultimately stomped down cause they're being "whiny"
@MASTER_1_CHIEF They can't do that anymore. They only understand and see what's being in their plate without having to look around the table. They don't know anything about character beats, different perspectives and how themes work. They see things in narrowed vision
@IyayiOsarenkhoe@TBKReturns What character? John? Yeah cause he has an existing, rich backstory like Hal Jordan right? Cause you read that. They're giving him DEPTH, dimensions. He doesn't just exist as the BLACK Green Lantern. What you feel about that is entirely your own,
@bussin_jussin2@j_stew55@nardo_1599 go pick up a comic then, you have all of that stuff there. Your attention span is so low it's almost pathetic. If you can't wait for a show to BUILD the world around it and just want things shown IMMEDIATELY, go read the existing mediums that has that.
@IyayiOsarenkhoe@TBKReturns Yeah, but at the end of the day John and Hal are humans. Just cause you don't want to deal with the problem doesn't mean ignore is the best way to go about it. Turning a blind eye just cause it makes you uncomfortable smh
@TheJokersGrimm My only fear for this is they do keep Hal Jordan dead and then give his storyline to John/Guy/Kyle/Jessica/Simon 😭😭 it's not gonna be the same😭😭
