A big week ahead.
This Thursday I will be speaking at an event in Parliament, hosted by MP, Saqib Bhatti and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. We will be highlighting issues for children who should be able to receive the specific speech therapy they need, and to raise awareness of CAS (Childhood Apraxia of Speech) & Verbal Dyspraxia. Our aim is to request more funding to recruit speech and language therapists to help the children and to also provide help in schools. We will be begging the government to provide more resources and support for families.
We are asking parents and carers in Lanarkshire to help us with a new leaflet.
We would like feedback on the draft leaflet and ideas on how it can be shared. If you are interested in helping please email
[email protected]@HOPEforAutismNL@ParentNorth

No one deserves to be a victim of violence or aggression at work. Here, health and social care staff repeat some of the worst verbal abuse they have received, exactly as they were said to them. Lines which include swearing or racism have been redacted.

@HannahSpeechie @DrDermotF_SLT I wonder if anyone from Strathclyde who initially called it Self have changed to using Kelf if they now work in the East of Scotland 🤔
@HannahSpeechie @DrDermotF_SLT I agree with this Strathclyde vs QMU. I studied at QMU and it was without doubt Kelf. I now work in Lanarkshire and am one if the few who uses the /k/. The majority of my colleagues studied at Strathclyde at say Self. I find myself using Self when in conversation...
