Online seminar series of the Irish Committee for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Mathematics continues 13 March at 2pm (Irish time) with @KArundhathi from @MICLimerick. Full details and how to participate: https://t.co/hGvUcycien #math#womeninSTEM
@JP_Mc_C I'd say leaving your bike securely locked to a bike stand in a well-lit part of Patrick's Street/ Grand Parade for a short while (30 -- 60 mins?) is absolutely fine.
@Maryamization Canadian phone plans are awful and expensive. :( There are somewhat cheap plans with Koodo/ Fido. Family doctors are hard to find -- if there is a campus clinic option, register there if eligible.
@modularform@vishuguttal I agree; however, summer programmes such as MTTS or the NBHM nurture are really valuable to students from colleges where they learn little (this was the case for me).
@RanthonyEdmonds I am working on two job applications (deadlines this week and next), and working on finalizing a preprint which will also form the content of a talk next month. I need to set myself a deadline for an arXiv submission, but it's a scary thought!
(Thank you for this thread!)
@sbalaji1 Thanks Balaji -- as someone who bikes regularly for transportation, I do consider the cons and pros of wearing a helmet, and wear one when I think it's necessary.
Just published in prestigious Journal of Functional Analysis, article on new connection between randomness and symmetry by UCC colleagues: Claus Kostler, @KArundhathi (MTU) & Stephen Wills in project funded by @IrishResearch. 👏
