For what it's worth I will always back the manager over a player. Even more so when he's shown the patience of a saint with the player who simply hasn't performed to the standards he expects.

Ten Hag didn't buy him, Ten Hag likely doesn't rate him. Simple as that.

People comparing it to how Jose has thrown players under the bus in the past, is simply laughable. The comment didn't come across as bitter or even that troublesome. The PR response from Sancho made the whole saga look more dramatic than it likely was.

Step up in training, step up on the pitch, or shit out.

Ten Hag is trying to build a team that is mentally stronger. Players like Casemiro, Antony, Martinez and Onana all clearly fit that mould. Christ, even Hojlund showed more fight in 20 minutes than Sancho has shown in 2 fucking years.
