Listen my lovelies, there's been a lot of criticism of people using AI to write books & I don't think that's the way to win hearts and minds. So let me tell you instead, with the best of intentions, what you're missing out on.
Here's the thing - writing books is hard. I don't know anyone who was a brilliant writer the first second they began. It's a journey and a learning curve. There are frustrations, challenges, disappointments and failures along the way. But the point is that the journey is still the good bit.
Because at the end of it all you have such a sense of pride and achievement that it can be life changing. You don't need a million pound book deal to feel it. The discipline, hard work, time, dedication, passion and intensity all pay out. It's a feeling like nothing else.
So for your own sake, stick with the writing. The actual hard work. And yes, I know it's tough. (Really, really.) But nothing quick and easy gives you a real sense of fulfilment.
Want to be a writer? Then the painful truth is that you have to write. Good days, bad days, boring days, days where you rip it up and start again. But my God, the days when you hold a book in your hands and think "I created this. From my brain, my soul, my life experience, my sweat and tears." Those days are golden. And you can have that, but only if you put in the hours. Because otherwise, you'll look at that book forever and the truth (that perhaps only you will know) is "Those aren't my words."
Just try.
I firmly believe that no matter how much practice you've had writing, no matter how many books you've read, and no matter how much craft education you've had, it is completely normal to look at your own work and have no idea if it's any good.🤣
#SelfAwareness#Writing
It's been a long time since my last post. Too long. I've been struggling with health and sanity lately, but I'm finally back to my #WIP. Just doing some character work, then I'll be over 80k in this first draft soon.
Most authors aren’t struggling with writing.
They’re struggling with being invisible.
You can spend 2 years writing a book…
and still hear silence after publishing.
No reviews.
No readers.
No sales.
Authors, what has been the hardest part after publishing your book?
@Simplyladyjoy11 Before, it was my sanctuary, my escape, my passion, but that changes when you've lived the story in your mind many times and still haven't finished writing it. Now, the focus isn't on myself anymore, but on providing that same sanctuary to any who might read it one day.
My #WIP used to feel like my inner world that I could travel to, develop, and live in at any time. Things have changed with time. It now feels like reliving the same fictional life indefinitely until I finally write "The End".
Can any writers relate?

@Simplyladyjoy11 I'm still writing it. The writing process first started in mid 2022, but the worldbuilding started far before. It's epic fantasy with so much mythos, magic and worldbuilding involved. 76,000 words in, I absolutely want to finish it, but its role in my life changes with time.
