The Regents were excited to celebrate outgoing Pittsburg State President Steve Scott prior to the start of today's meeting. We wish President Scott all the best in retirement and thank him for his service!
Yesterday I was excited to learn that the Governor’s budget recommendations include several items to help Kansas families access higher education and leverage our system’s unique capabilities to grow the Kansas economy.
I was honored to attend the State of the State yesterday. The Regents look forward to working with the Governor and Legislature this session. Our higher education system has the power to revitalize our economy if we partner to meet the needs of Kansas families and businesses.
At this month's Board meeting, the Regents had a reception to honor President Myers before his retirement. He possesses a deep passion for K-State, its students and employees, and we are grateful for his leadership and vision. I wish him all the best in retirement.
