I had a migraine but sat down to write anyway, and wrote a really emotional story based on a dream I had. This process involved some crying. Am I correct to assume that writing and crying is a cure for migraines, because I feel better? #amwriting#amcrying#writerlife
@WrnrWrites It's normal to have seasons to writing. Ditch the guilt and find the joy. Go for a walk and think about your characters, ask them questions. Then open the document, and get back to it. You got this.
@J_Schiecke Make space for the creative. Get out and find inspiration. Go for a walk. Write with a friend. Write at a coffee shop, museum or zoo. Remember, there are seasons for everything. Open the document. Set a timer and write for 20 minutes without distractions. Keep going.
I've got a WWII historical fiction short story I'd like to submit to a #litmag about the #DanishResistance, based on a story my Farfar shared with me about his cousin. Does anyone have any ideas where to send it? #amwriting
@brecht_dp I think that's actually pretty great! For me, there are seasons to writing. Lately, in this season, I'm probably around 5 to 6 hours a week. It ebbs and flows for me, but as long as you are making space for it, don't beat yourself up. Slow and steady can win the race.
With writing, if you aren't a little scared, you are doing it wrong. Yesterday, I shared a poem that scares me in a workshop. I try to remember vulnerability is strength. And it's not so scary anymore. #amwriting#writingworkshop#writingpoetry
Ok, so if one were dreaming of starting a #literarymagazine, what advice would you give? What would you like to read or submit to? Do's and don't's? Would love to chat with others who have.
@LiMa_notLima Sage advice, @LiMa_notLima, thanks. It's not just perfectionism... It's also the vulnerability. I keep reminding myself that vulnerability is strength. We'll see if it sticks.
I've always been scared to share my poetry but do it anyway at readings and workshops. I have a chapbook I've written over 12 years. (Time is a theme.) What do I do with it, and what do I do with the fear? Been playing with titles on vacay in Spain. #amwriting#writingadvice

@kathyfish@nancystohlman thanks for inspiring me so much over the years to get out of my comfort zone as a writer, and experience beautiful, inspiring places.
There are still spots at Kathy Fish and Nancy Stohlman's Grand Lake CO #WritingRetreat, a life-changing and magical experience. They are amazing writers and teachers, and build an instant writer community as unforgettable as mountain sunsets. July 23-28 https://t.co/RqM8JsPLI3
