Porque hay que observar qué tipo de vida les ofrece el sistema que defienden y qué lugar ocupan dentro de él.

Muchos intelectuales pasan toda su vida en entornos donde nunca tienen que competir en un mercado abierto.

Nunca deben convencer voluntariamente a un cliente para que compre su producto ni asumir el riesgo de perder su patrimonio.

¿Y por qué viven con esta seguridad?

Porque el Estado les ofrece algo extremadamente atractivo: subvenciones, becas, cargos, consultorías y toda clase de ayudas financiadas con impuestos.

En ese ecosistema el éxito no depende de satisfacer las necesidades del prójimo, sino de obtener el respaldo de quienes administran el poder político.

Y la universidad pública proporciona un refugio especialmente cómodo. Un salario estable, escasa competencia, prestigio social y financiación ilimitada permiten construir una carrera con estabilidad garantizada.

A eso se suma un factor psicológico. Para algunos intelectuales resulta difícil aceptar que un comerciante o un empresario sin tener sus enormes conocimientos, pueda alcanzar una prosperidad mucho mayor. Esa realidad hiere su orgullo.

De ahí nace una necesidad constante de rebajar el mérito del éxito ajeno. Si quien prospera en el mercado no puede ser admirado, entonces debe ser acusado de explotador, privilegiado o inmoral.

Por eso la atracción de muchos intelectuales por la Izquierda no siempre puede entenderse solo como una cuestión filosófica o de principios.

También hay fuertes incentivos materiales, reconocimiento institucional y, en ocasiones, resentimiento hacia quienes prosperan sin depender del Estado.

En resumen, el parasitimo ha capturado a gran parte de los intelectuales.
