BREAKING: Trump says that he is going to either move 88,000 IRS agents to border patrol duties or demand their resignation.

To me it sounds like he really wants this country to go broke.

FACTS:

- For every $1 spent on enforcement, the IRS typically collects between $4 and $7 in revenue.

- In 2021, the IRS employed roughly 80,000 people (not all of whom are enforcement agents) and collected around $4.1 trillion in total revenue. This averages about $51.25 million per employee in total collections.

BREAKING: Democratic Congressman Dan Goldman introduces a historic resolution to clarify that the Constitution's two-term limit on presidents applies even if the terms are nonconsecutive — enraging MAGA.

And it gets even better...

"We are a nation of laws, not kings. The 22nd Amendment is clear that no person can be elected President more than twice," Goldman wrote on X. "Any attempt by Donald Trump to do so is blatantly unconstitutional, and I call on my colleagues – D or R – to stand by their oath to defend the Constitution."

Goldman's move comes after Trump "joked" that he might run for an illegal third term.

"I suspect I won’t be running again unless you say, ‘He’s so good we’ve got to figure something else out,’" Trump said to Republicans.

Of course, Trump was not just joking and has already demonstrated a profound lack of respect for our democratic norms. If he can find a way to pursue a third term, he'll do it. He must be stopped.
