An important, simple lesson on happiness!
I love TikTok - I have for years. I spend a little time catching up on the Tikky Tokky every night just before I go to bed. Last night, I came across a video where a guy told a simple story about balloons and happiness that really struck a chord in me.
And I think it might do the same for you.
A teacher handed out balloons to all her students.
She told them to blow them up and then passed a permanent marker around the classroom, asking each child to write their name on their balloon. She then told the class to throw all the balloons into the passageway and gave them 2 minutes to run to fetch their own balloon.
It was absolute chaos.
When she called them back to their desks (after the 2 minutes), not a single kid had found their “named” balloon.
She then told the kids that they would again only have 2 minutes to go into the passage, but this time, they were instructed to find a balloon and give it to the person it belonged to.
Within no time, all the kids were standing with their own balloons.
The moral of the story?
These balloons are like happiness. If you look for your own, you will never find it. But if you care about someone else’s, you’ll find yours too.
How bladdy proufound!
A timely reminder that in our quest for fulfilment, we can find heartfelt meaning and joy by uplifting those around us.
Be kinder than necessary, or needed. Try to make the journey easier for others. Always do what is good and what is right. Find other people's balloons for them. Spread happiness like glitter.
That’s it.
Okay. Love you. Bye.
