5/ Days 61 to 90: own something with your name on it.
Propose one meaningful project from your one-pager and ask to own it end to end.
By day 90 the sentence you want said about you is: "the new person? They own X." Owners get promoted. Helpers get thanked.
4/ Days 31 to 60: the visible quick win.
Pick ONE thing from your map: small enough to finish in 3 weeks, annoying enough that people notice it's gone.
The broken weekly report. The meeting that needs killing. The doc nobody updated. Ship it, and quietly make sure the right people know.
3/ The document that makes month one count:
After 30 days, send your manager one page: "Here's what I've learned, here's what I think the 3 biggest opportunities are, here's what I plan to tackle first. Am I seeing this right?"
New hires who check their map before driving earn trust that lasts years.
2/ Days 1 to 30: listen and map.
→ Book 30 minutes with everyone you'll work with. One question matters most: "What should this role do that the last person didn't?"
→ Write down how things ACTUALLY work vs the org chart
→ Fix nothing yet. Suggest nothing yet.
You have about 4 weeks where asking anything is free. Spend them asking.
Maybe you're not unmotivated.
Maybe you're exhausted.
Maybe you've been carrying too much for too long.
Maybe you've ignored your own needs for months.
Maybe you've been surviving instead of living.
Maybe your mind is asking for care, not criticism.
Remember, not every problem is solved by pushing harder. Sometimes the answer is gentleness. The way forward isn't always more pressure.
Sometimes it's more care.

You had forgotten what this felt like—the frenzy, the way lust could almost hold a shape within you, something big and loud and very demanding. It felt rushed, dangerous, exactly how you wanted it, too quick to think, too fast, too hard, too wet to remember anything.

One of the most bizarre things I observed at Shell was how someone would spectacularly fail at a $$$ project, and instead of being demoted or fired, the opposite happens. They get transferred to manage another high-visibility project or even get a promotion!
It took me a long time to understand this but when I did, it changed everything for me.
You see, performance is measured in most companies on two prongs: the what and the how. The “what” is the actual result: did you or did you not strike oil after drilling that well? The “how” is the behavior you displayed during the entire process.
I was too focused on the actual results but I later found out that leaders rate behaviors higher. Hence, a project might fail in that it did not meet its stated objectives and yet the project manager might come out a winner because of how he carried himself through it all.
So what are the behaviors highly cherished by the higher ups?
First is daily updates. Forget weekly reports. Tell your boss and other key stakeholders about how the project is going at least once a day. When I say “tell”, I mean “tell.” Don’t rely solely on an email or a tool. Find a way to get in their face daily even if just for a min or two to verbally articulate the status of things. The pros at this put a standing 5-10 min meeting on their calendars and they come prepared to discuss the highlights and issues that need addressing. Which leads me to the second point.
Second, involve your superiors in solving the problem. Don’t form James Bond or Jackie Chan, trying to do it all alone. Any issue that will lead to a delay or cost overrun or any other wahala should be brought up asap to be discussed. Much easier to do if you talk with them daily. It is hard for them to blame you on the outcome of a project they have been integral to.
Third, conduct a “lessons learned” session where you perform an autopsy on the dead project. Share these lessons far and wide. You will be hailed as a sage. Suddenly you are now the guy helping the company become better by spreading wisdom gained from the school of hard knocks. This act alone has landed many people their promotion.
Bottom line: you can secure victory from defeat. The high flyers in your company do it all the time. If the project succeeds, they win. If the project fails, they win.
Be like them.

Corporate Rules for Happy Life In 2026
1. Trust nobody.
2. What happens in office, remain in office. Never take office gossips to home and vice versa.
3. Enter office on time, leave on time. Your desktop is not helping improvement in your health.
4. Never make GF/BF and/or brother/sister in office. It will always backfire.
5. Expect nothing. If somebody helps, feel thankful. If not, you will learn to know things on your own.
6. Never rush for position. If you get promoted, congrats. If not, it doesn't matter. You will always be remembered for your knowledge and politeness, not for your designation.
7. Never run behind office stuff. You have better things to do in life.
8. Avoid taking everything on your ego. Your salary matters. You are being paid. Use your assets to get happiness.
9. It doesn't matter how people treat you. Be humble. You are not everyone's cup of tea.
10. In the end nothing matters except family, friends, home, and Inner peace
@guzu_p Nonchalance is power.
Men who stay detached, disciplined, and unpredictable capture attention, influence, and the best timing.
Those who chase, overinvest, or force themselves get leftovers, betrayal, and unnecessary pain.
Control your energy, always.
The sweetest part about self-awareness is how often it helps you realize you are part of the problem.
The hardest part is how uncomfortable you now find yourself accepting that your habits, your choices, your reactions, or even your mistakes contributed to the chaos you blamed others for.
But if you must grow, you must accept the honesty that stares you in the face, let it humble you, and be willing to seek the courage that pushes you to do better next time.
Everybody should take a lesson in self-awareness.
@Jha_Stormborn This same guy kitoed me in 2020. He took my phones, emptied my account, called random of my contacts to tell them that I'm gay and they caught me fucking another man. Unfortunately, he called my manager, supervisor and team lead. After about a month, I was sacked.
