@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle It doesn't matter how he left the store if the shopkeeper wants to detain him.
Because he knew he had an illegal weapon and had no legal right to use it in a situation where someone wanted to detain him to investigate shoplifting.
Just a guess
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle And they were not aware he had a gun so he obviously didnt thoroughly shake out all his pockets and prove that he couldnt be concealing anything because he still was actively concealing a gun lmao.
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle So he should have stayed and waited for police to arrive because he "did nothing wrong."
But we both know the reason he didn't do that is because he was actively committing a bigger crime than theft so he fled.
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle He couldn't have because the police would have arrested him for possession of an illegal firearm.
Nobody is saying carrying a gun is a death sentence. Pointing it at someone is. Why do you still not understand this
Do you always advocate for 14 year olds to be able to carry?
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle Because you don't have to. You seemingly don't understand that the legal system has protections for shop owners and once you enter their private business you agree to those terms.
If he wasn't a criminal in possesion of an illegal weapon he would have been able to stay and sue.
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle It isn't though because they can still detain him and wait for police because they legally cant search his pockets.
He was caught committing a crime by being in possession of an illegal firearm and he knew it.
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle Do I want you to keep proving my point that the detention was legal? Sure.
Do you want to tell me why he couldn't wait there for police to clear him then sue in civil court like youre supposed to?
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle So again that proves my point that the best thing to do even if it was deemed illegal is to wait for police, have them document it, then sue in civil court if it was deemed unreasonable.
Why didn't he do that exactly?
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle It wasn't for no reason.
If a white boy was shot after fleeing from a legal detainment then pointing a gun at the store owners black son I would still support the store owner.
How is that racist at all?
@dye_sin@surecooker@WinthropPHarvey@username3675895@shortmagsmle "I saw him pick up water bottles and noticed a buldge in his hoodie I didnt see when he walked in and he refused to show me what it was" Is probable cause in many places.
Why couldn't help wait for police to clear his name exactly?
