I started putting patches on my sweater before my vest, and now, thanks to my Canadian friend Mark Hopkins helping me obtain a Tangerine Dream patch from overseas, I think I've finally finished my sweater. Bask in my nerd glory.
These are the sorts of news stories I became a journalist to cover in the first place. I can only hope I've done Grover Krantz proud.

I neglected to show my vest's side-seam patches, which fans of Depeche Mode, Vampire: The Masquerade and Dungeons & Dragons should recognize.
I've been informed my nerd vest is a "battle jacket," owing to history involving World War II pilots, biker gangs and heavy metal fans.
My vest front is finally finished.
See how many patches you can ID.
The Leader is my newspaper.
The STOP patch is for service dogs.
My vest back is about two-thirds done.
With the attachment of my last back patches, my vest is finally complete, somewhere between a year and a half to two years after I started this silly project, but now, like Tom Baker's scarf and Matt Smith's bowtie, I have my signature Doctor Who wardrobe accessory.
My movie reviews swept first through third place in the Art Reviews category, for the @ptleader's circulation group, in the @WNPA1's Better Newspaper Contest for 2025, in Wenatchee.
Ed Harris: What's your name?
Alec Baldwin: THAT'S my name.
If you missed this year's @PTFilmFest, you can still read about it in the @ptleader, through my writing and photos.

Covering the final day of the @PTFilmFest for the @ptleader, when I met @PiggyDuster director Jesse Stewart.
I'd given his film a positive review, and he shares my love of @andorofficial, which he spotted among the patches on my Nerd Vest.

I positively reviewed Rich Newey and Annika Marks' "Adult Children" for the @ptleader, then met them during the @PTFilmFest, while wearing my Nerd Vest.

Covering the @PTFilmFest at the @RoseTheatrePT for the @ptleader, I got to tell Tom Skerritt that I grew up watching him in "Picket Fences," and I loved his work with Harry Dean Stanton in "Alien" and "Lucky."
And yes, I did it while wearing a Flynn's Arcade shirt.

After reviewing their fine films for the @ptleader, I was fortunate enough to talk shop with talented writer-directors Kersti Bryan and @VivianKerr at the @PTFilmFest.
Bill Murray: "So I got that goin' for me. Which is nice."
