Trains have stopped moving at central station due to communication issues. We have been given limited information on the current situation. Police have blocked the gate entries preventing the public from getting on the platforms. Take alternative routes home.
Shocked commuters have captured the moment a fire truck collides with a tram outside of Sydneyโs Central Station this morning.
Three people sustained minor injuries, with the incident expected to take six hours to clear. #9News

The Rail Emergency Train Recovery Unit has moved in beside the tram to assist crew already onsite. This will cause major delays for Sydney travellers this evening as it seems unlikely that the trams will be functioning.
Two lanes are still out of action along Pitt Street, with traffic moving slowly, however, the South Bound lanes from Wattle Street have been reopened.
Police are monitoring the situation, directing pedestrians around the scene.
Transport NSW workers are alongside the Fire and Rescue crew who are working tirelessly to place the tram back onto the rails after hitting a fire truck earlier this afternoon.
