With @VCDNP today, @JaimeYassif highlighted the gap between the outbreak investigation capabilities of the World Health Organization and the United Nations Secretary-General’s Mechanism, which has the authority to investigate alleged deliberate bioweapons use. @NTI_WMD
Today with @NTI_WMD and @VCDNP, @kaneview provided insights on how the international community could develop a Joint Assessment Mechanism to enable a multinational team to investigate the origin of a high consequence biological event.
She explained how the mechanism requires pre-established relationships with a diverse roster of qualified experts, regular training, a strong laboratory network, data analysis capabilities, and a standing capability that monitors for aberrations that could trigger a response.
Join @NTI_WMD and @VCDNP now for an interesting event on how we may bolster the capabilities of the United Nations system to investigate pandemic origins. Watch it live on Youtube: https://t.co/PCBoDND4hj
