I‘m currently at #LSA2025 at @YorkStJohn to present my research on #megaevents and #resistance. Now on is the first #plenary of the conference on „Justice in the Face of Polycrisis“ as part of the celebrations of @Leisure_Studies 50th anniversary.

We're at @YorkStJohn for a symposium now organised for the third time and run #hybrid this year. The topic is: "More than just a number: re-humanising the tourism industry". Organised by @GLTRG_RGS @TourismRESET @TEFI_2020 @CTS_tourism_ @Leisure_Studies

First panel today is on "S*it has to change: for a flourishing tourism academy" with panellists Dr Kai Sean Lee, Dr Subedi Swechchha, Dr Stefanie Benjamin, Dr @karla_boluk and a lively discussion with the audience both in-person and online. Moderated by @LaughingGrouse

And we're off - the first session of our hybrid #symposium included a (pre-recorded) keynote by @freyahd - we're really embracing technology here today at @YorkStJohn, trying to engage with as many fellow colleagues and academics as possible. Session moderator: @Alberto_P_Amore

The Olympic Games are indeed in danger - withdrawn bids and applications creating issues for the #IOC leaving (very) few cities interested in hosting the #megaevent
