@ambernoelle I hike in trail running sneakers all the time. I love Hokas but many brands will do. Much easier to break in than boots and you can use them to run/walk/gym after the trip.

Sad news for San Francisco: Alexander Book Company is closing its doors for good. The three-story independent shop has been a downtown cultural beacon for the past 32 years.

The store says it is now selling all its books at 25 percent off.

@GinPhillips17 We had these in PA. An outer door with a flimsy lock. Screen window in the summer, glass in winter. The bottom was an aluminum panel. A few in my CA neighborhood, but only the older homes (1920s era).
