The KCNSC men’s and women’s volleyball teams recently competed in separate tournaments in the KC Corporate Challenge. The men were able to “dig” out a first-place win, and the women fought hard for a third-place finish!. Congrats to both teams!

Last week, I completed my tour of the NNSA labs, plants, and sites (finest scientific and engineering organization in human history!).
My final visit was at @KCNSC, embodying the DNA of NNSA’s production mission! KCNSC produces 80% of the non-nuclear components that go into our nuclear enterprise. Swiss watches are crude and simplistic in comparison.

@KCNSC celebrates #NationalShiftWorkersDay, honoring nearly 600 second- and third-shift employees who keep our mission thriving from dusk until dawn. We recognize the staff who do important national-security work while most of us are at home or asleep.
@NSCSafety recognized @KCNSC for our excellence in safety performance with the Million Hours Worked Award and the Occupational Excellence Achievement Award for 2025. In FY25, KCNSC logged over 7 million consecutive work hours without an occupational injury or illness.
KCNSC employees had a busy weekend competing in several events at the KC Corporate Challenge. Our mixed doubles tennis duo took home the grand prize! Our fishing team reeled in a second-place win, and the many cyclists who competed in the bike race for a third-place finish!
KCNSC’s co-ed soccer team competed in the Kansas City Corporate Challenge 4v4 soccer event over the weekend and took fourth place! We’re cheering on all of our employees competing over the next week in the bike race, 5K run, tennis, fishing and horseshoes!

On April 21, 1949, the Kansas City Division produced its first part — an ordinary machined bushing, a low-cost, reliable plain bearing. This simple part was the first of many highly sophisticated components built at the KCNSC.
