This morning we had a hoax call of a shooter at Salem High School. While we believed it to be a hoax from the moment it was received, we deployed officers who will remain until students have left. These calls fit a pattern throughout the state and country.

So, I still might get sick. 🤷🏻‍♀️ but the chance that I will need additional medical help is low. Plus, the extra antibodies floating around in my blood for a few weeks/months *might* help me avoid getting sick all together!

Got my updated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine today! 💪🏻

I decided to get mine right away because I want all the protection I can from getting sick during fall semester. My fall semester is shorter than spring and if I get sick it really messes up my schedule! 😆

Vaccines can’t entirely prevent infection, but they can reduce the risk that you get infected. Really they work by preventing serious disease. Serious = requiring hospitalization or more medical interventions.
