William Julius "Judy" Johnson is praised as one of the greatest third basemen in the Negro Leagues. He led the Hilldale Daisies to win 3 straight pennants in the Eastern Colored League, including the 1925 Colored World Series.

Walter "Buck" Leonard spent his entire 15-year career with the Homestead Grays, the longest term of service for any player in NNL history. As a first baseman & power-hitter, Leonard was a 13x All-Star and 3x NNL World Series Champion.

Leon Day is considered to be one of the best pitchers & versatile athletes to play in the Negro Leagues. In 1937, he collected his best season with the Newark Eagles when he finished with a 13-0 record and a batting average over .300.

Leroy Robert "Satchel" Paige is praised as one of the best baseball players to ever play the game. In 1948, he made his big league debut with the Cleveland Indians as the first Black pitcher to play in the American League.

Toni Stone was the first woman to play in the NNL for the Indianapolis Clowns, where she took over at the second baseman position after Hank Aaron. She would later be inducted into the Women’s Sports Hall of Fame.
