KIKO-BAM DOMINATE SURVEYS IN TARLAC UNIVERSITIES

Former Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino have emerged as the top senatorial preferences in surveys conducted at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) and Tarlac State University (TSU), showcasing their strong appeal among student voters ahead of the 2025 Midterm Elections.

At TAU, Pangilinan led the November 2024 survey with an overwhelming 85.7% voter preference, while Aquino followed closely with 78.6%. Labor leader Luke Espiritu came in third with 39.3%. Other notable names included Ka Leody de Guzman (35.7%) and Makati Mayor Abby Binay, who shared the fifth to seventh spots with former Senator Ping Lacson and Dr. Willie Ong, each earning 28.6%. The survey also highlighted a lackluster showing for administration candidates, with only five of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s 12 endorsed bets making it into the top ranks.

At TSU, Pangilinan again secured the top spot with 92 votes, closely followed by Aquino with 84. Completing the top five were ML Partylist first nominee and former Senator Leila de Lima (63 votes), Espiritu (41 votes), and House Deputy Minority Leader and ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro (38 votes).

Students from both universities emphasized transparency, strong governance records, and dedication to social justice as key factors in their preferences.

The survey results highlight the youth's growing demand for leaders with experience, integrity, and a commitment to addressing pressing social issues.
