@tesafarran@CourseyChristy So True. Sometimes you are the person who just does the right things day after day. Having teachers/team members who consistently show up, day in and day out, give their best and do the right stuff the right way is so valuable as a leader!
@tesafarran@CourseyChristy@JonGordon11 Same exact take away I had, and so powerful as a leader to be able to practice listening. I also think that along with this, as a leader you have to be the last person to speak. Listen a lot, process, and speak last after all ideas are on the table.
"A team feels a leader's commitment when the leader takes the time to serve them. JEsus washed feet; Martin Luther King marched' Mother Teresa fed the poor and healed the sick... When you serve the team, you help them grow and they help you grow." @CourseyChristy#RepMoLeaders
"Connection is the key to becoming a great team. And a lack of connection between team members leads to below-average teamwork and sub-par performance and results. Connection is the difference between a team that thrives and one that crumbles." @CourseyChristy#RepMoLeaders
"People often think of communication as talking, but for me it is about listening. The best communicator is... the person who has the ability to listen, process information, and use it to make decisions that are in the best interest of the team." @CourseyChristy#RepMoLeaders
A6. Seeing the kids again, even if it is with physical distancing and a lot of challenges. School doesn't feel like school without the kids in the building. It's just not the same. #MLDS#MOedchat
A4. Engage teachers, parents, students, admin, everyone in identifying what is most essential. If we have ownership in it, we are more likely to stick to it. We have to work together to solve these new challenges. #MLDS#MOedchat
A3: Things we've thought about: Cleaning incoming school supplies, daily cleaning schedules, handwashing stations, temp. checks. Things we haven't thought about: A lot... #MLDS#MOEdchat
A2: This one is tough, at all levels, but especially at Elementary Levels. Adjusting specials schedules, passing times, lunch schedules are a start. I think there is also a reality where we bring in half the students at a time. Its hard to say until we get there. #MLDS#MOedchat
A1. I think it starts with acknowledging our reality, the trauma that has/may have occurred, and finding ways to celebrate and rebuild. Acknowledge what happened, but celebrate through it and being able to move forward. #MLDS#MOedchat
A7 - Some time to slow down. The pace of keeping up with everything during a closure has been exhausting. Getting some chance to reflect, grow, and relax will be great before we jump back into things in August. #MLDS#MOedchat
A5 - We have done several feedback surveys for our parents as we have continued through this process. We will do another good wrap up survey for Ps, and Ts/Ss. We plan to do a debrief at the conclusions to learn better ways to move forward in the future. #MLDS#moedchat
A4 - another big question. Overall: Schools provide so much more than just education to students and communities. Short term: what can we take away from this round of virtual learning so that, if we have to do it again, we can do better? #MLDS#moedchat
A3 - lots of formative assessment, and focus on SEL. We cant forget the SEL impact of that long out of school, especially for our younger students. Recognize the trauma all have been through, listen, and work to meet S and T needs. #MLDS#moedchat
A2 - good question. I think our focus has to shift to trying to make up "lost ground." Review of prev priority learning skills, introduction of fourth quarter skills we missed, etc. Build that strong foundation so we can (hopefully) hit the ground running in Aug #MLDS#MoEdchat
