Dear H.S. Hitters:
Pitchers aren’t missing inside anymore. They’re living away because most of you can’t handle it.
Everybody wants to pull HRs.
Nobody wants to hit a hard single the other way.
Learn to use the whole field.
You can thank me later.
The last 3 outs of a baseball game, that has huge implications, are arguably the toughest finish in all of sport. Tension and adrenaline do crazy things to the mind and body. And there is no clock. You have to execute physically and situationally with all stadium eyes on you and sometimes the entire world watching on TV, with half of them praying you will mess up. It takes off the charts mental toughness to play this game at the highest levels.
10 truths every high school coach learns:
1. Adversity is coming
2. Every player is different
3. Winning isn’t everything
4. You can't please everyone
5. Parents have tunnel vision
6. Critics will be loud
7. The hours are long
8. The impact is real
9. A supportive spouse is a must
10. The memories? Unmatched
It’s hard. It’s worth it.
Upset: Tonganoxie (4A) punches their ticket to the 4A state ⚾️tournament as they defeat previously unbeaten Topeka Hayden (9-8) in the regional championship. Hayden was the defending 3A champion and dominated their schedule this year of 4A, 5A, 6A opponents. Great win for Tongie who improves to 16-11. Chieftains played a great schedule and actually lost to Hayden back on March 29 (10-8) in the Sabetha tournament. #sportsinkansas
In Australia, the captain of this football team went into the stands after his team won the championship to get their waterboy, who has Down's Syndrome, so they could celebrate together.
Some parents struggle with it.
Their child isn’t getting much playing time. What do they do?
I’ve lived it.
My son was the 9th/10th man on our varsity BB team for two years; he didn’t play in every game.
I could have gotten upset with the coach.
But there was one problem...
I was the coach.
I had coached that group since youth basketball. And in grades 1–8, my philosophy was always the same: every kid plays, every kid gets time.
But high school sports are different. And I was the varsity coach.
Once you get to the varsity level, the focus shifts to competition and winning.
That’s reality.
My son understood that. He embraced his role.
He led, encouraged, practiced hard, and made our team better.
And I was proud, not because he scored points, but because he became a leader and a great teammate.
Skills that have greatly benefited him as he becomes an adult.
So, what can parents do to make peace with their child's playtime?
Here are 3 reminders:
1. Accept the struggle
High school sports are competitive. That’s the point. You compete with others and with yourself.
The joy is in the process, the grind, the growth.
The struggle isn’t the problem; it’s the path.
2. It’s their struggle, not yours
It’s your child’s journey.
Not your minutes. Not your stats. Not your story.
Support. Cheer. Encourage.
But don’t cross the line into control.
3. The struggle is the teacher
Adversity builds strength.
If you remove every obstacle, your child won’t be ready when life gets hard, which it will. Jobs. Relationships. Health. Finances. Loss.
The lessons from sports? They’ll carry over.
Parents, come to peace with playing time.
Not because it’s easy. But because it’s worth it.
And one day, you’ll look back and realize:
The struggle was the blessing.
Kelvin Sampson doesn’t mention the word talent once here.
He talks about attitude, effort, body language, and consistency.
Because those are the habits that win.

America, @ClemsonUniv is leading the nation by creating a program so that special needs college students are able to rush and join fraternities. Charlie is joining the Eta Alpha Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha! Clemson is a truly special place! #GoTigers
If you’re a single-issue voter on the economy, Kamala’s proposed tax on *unrealized* capital gains is a good reason on its own not to vote for her - and Republicans should be hammering this point much harder. Under Kamala’s plan, if you have an asset that the government says has appreciated by $1 million in value, you’ll owe $250,000 in taxes - even if you don’t want to sell it, and even if you *can’t* sell it.
That means you’ll be forced sell assets at fire sale prices even when you don’t want to sell, which depresses asset prices, which in turn spirals like a domino effect - because others are forced to sell those same assets at the same time. There’s no better way to trigger a market crash & economic depression, and startup founders will have to refocus their already-scarce bandwidth on esoteric tax planning instead of focusing on business growth.
Sure, they say the tax will initially only apply to people with a net worth of over $100 million, but the truth is a market crash and its effects will hurt ordinary Americans the most. And history shows that any new tax that begins with the so-called “ultra-wealthy” eventually finds its way to affect those who would never imagine describing themselves as such. Kamala’s megadonors will be able to pay expensive tax accountants to structure around it anyway, but it’ll be everyday citizens left holding the bag.
Ok crazy idea…
How about instead of price controls on grocery stores making tiny profits, we just cut income taxes instead?
The federal gov’t is taking 28-35% of our paychecks
Grocery store are making 1.5% profit to give us food
Which one is getting too greedy here?
Olympic Gold Medalist Sydney McLaughlin on her relationship with God:
“I credit all that I do to God. Regardless of what happens, He’s going to get the praise. Every time I step on the track I pray “let me be the vessel in which you’re glorified”… That’s why I do what I do.” 🙏
I’m not a political tweet guy. But this makes my blood boil. I don’t care what side of the isle you are on politically. Men, in women’s sports is wrong. It’s as clear cut as it can be. 100% wrong! Period. This woman just had her Olympic dreams shattered by a man. And it was not even a fight. As expected… She was crushed (literally and figuratively). We live in 2024. Can we not even get this right? You have male 🧬 genes, play against the men.
The Left keeps saying they’re voting for Kamala Harris because they want their daughters to have rights, which are just limited to abortion.
I’m voting for Trump because I want my daughter to have a different set of rights:
The right to change in a locker room where there’s nothing but other biological women.
The right to be safe where she isn’t the next Laken Riley.
The right to live in a country where there isn’t a two tier justice system.
The right to live in a country where American citizens come first.
I want her to have a real future in this country. Biden already started the poison on this country. If Harris is elected, she’ll finish it.
Want to know why I have Unshakeable Faith?
Never in my life have I witnessed evil exposing itself as much as it has now.
It’s just so blatantly in our faces, it’s forcing people to finally open their eyes.
I reflect on my own journey… the only reason I came to believe God was real was because I recognized that satan was real.
It sure feels like satan is showing its ugly head to the world right now… don’t it?
I have faith because it says to me that satan is desperate…
This darkness that has enveloped our world use to remain in the shadows. Many never recognized it…
Now those shadows are front and center and we recognize what we are seeing is evil.
In darkness, people seek the light.
That’s the way God made us.
Many are becoming closer to God now than ever before…
I know I am… are you?
This is absolutely devastating and shows in just over a minute why trust in the media is at an all time low - they just relentlessly gaslight and lie whenever it suits their political needs
So, if I’ve got this right, far-left protesters can riot in Washington D.C., sometimes for days, burn the American flag, torch leaders in effigy, take over buildings, disrupt official proceedings, and force a former president into a bunker, but the only time it’s an “insurrection” is when some protesters happen to be “Trump supporters”?
The only thing burning faster than this American flag is the state-controlled media’s credibility.
I hope this reaches every single female voter. Old, young. Black, white. Gay, straight. Doesn't matter.
There is only one ticket who will defend the sex-based rights & protections of women. That's who I'm voting for in November.
