The Roosevelt men's basketball team's head coach is former First Team All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year Dee Brown. He led Illinois to two B1G titles and the NCAA Championship game in 2005.

The Lakers won 25 games in 23-24 and were ranked as high as No. 11 nationally.
