@vmdwip There ARE some useful apps you can use on your phone on the inpatient side, but honestly nothing that’s essential- Pretty much everything can be accessed on your phone Can be accessed on a computer and you’re usually close to those (for better or worse).
Still reeling from yesterday’s events, but also realizing that my feelings of shock are also reflection of my own white privilege. We should all be horrified by what happened yesterday, but it is hardly surprising.
via @NYTimes “We all know if Black Lives Matter would have stormed the Capitol, there would have been deadly force used to protect that building...We today saw what it means for white people to have the privilege.” -Ja’mal Green https://t.co/O3ECtbUqaV
"White Americans are not afraid of the cops. White Americans are never afraid of the cops. Even when they are committing insurrection." --Just a few words from @JoyAnnReid moments ago on @MSNBC, in one of the most powerful statements I've ever heard on television.
Dear white women praising Stacey Abrams, Okay now find the black women in your sphere, in your office, in your PTA and listen to them too. Stacey would want you to, and she wouldn't have to work so damn hard if we had already done this.
Grateful to be vaccinated today and also that I work at an institution @childrensatvcu@VCUHealth that is offering ALL employees (including contracted workers) the opportunity to be vaccinated in a transparent and tiered approach. #ThisIsOurShot#grateful
@KDonowitz our @chorphm 2nd year fellow received the #vaccine today. As a physician and a mother, this small but significant act is an important one, not only for her family but also for the patients whom she cares for. Thank you @VCUHealth and @childrensatvcu#ThisIsOurShot
I JUST HAD A BOARD QUESTION ON RACISM. (Boards are certification exams that assess doctors’ competency to practice a specialty, in my case pediatrics). That means...UNDERSTANDING SYSTEMIC RACISM IS NOW A COMPETENCY TO PRACTICE PEDIATRICS IN THE US!!
I’m in tears.
via @NYTimes The idea that we would consider vaccinating prison guards but giving prisoners lower priority is immoral. We have a moral and legal obligation to protect the health this vulnerable population (something we do very poorly, if at all). https://t.co/E2iMDlHOfz
