@UKHofficial If you run a pub or cater in an office, there is a difference betweeing doing a 'street food offer' and offering a spot to a street food business.
The food can be identical, but the origin of why it's been made is totally different.
Interesting report from @UKHofficial.
Fascinating that 90% of catering company leaders identified street food as an eating trend. Yet only 30% are working with local independent operators.

@UKHofficial Street food isn’t growing because it’s cool or specifically on the street, it’s because people want to connect with a business that has authenticity.
Replace street food with independent food business, and you can understand why people don’t want the casual dining chains.
Street food traders & independent restaurants put in years building a brand, but established businesses just come up with ones seemingly overnight for Deliveroo?
What's the point of brand building then? Does this work?
Want to learn how to start a street food business? Oli will speaking about how he went from street food markets to multiple sites 🍟🧀🙌🏼 get your tickets with @kerbvault @ Oli Baba's https://t.co/JJ1UzAhslA
Great to see @marksandspencer getting behind our #KERBPactLunch campaign, although 25p probably isn't enough of an incentive...

@Streetzine@cyprus_kouzina@FoodfanStockpt@KERB_ @GlastoFest With Pact Lunch we had a lot of people ask about making a KeepCup style lunch box.
But everyone has containers at home, or at least you've ordered food that comes in a reusable plastic container.
So just use that!
@Streetzine@cyprus_kouzina@FoodfanStockpt@KERB_ @GlastoFest If anything coming out with compostable disposables is a problem because it doesn't tackle the issue of creating waste. Even if it 'able' to be composted it's so much better to reuse something you already have.

The jump from food truck to restaurant might be easier because at least with the traders we work with some of the traders have that vision.
But a national rollout? Surely no independent starts with this in mind. If they do who are they?
Interesting thread about the lifecycle of a business.
Each of these steps from food truck -> B&M -> national rollout are incredibly hard to jump to whilst keeping the original spirit of your business alive.
Are there any that have?

The video for the song Global Warming by @johngrantmusic is set in a future where global warming has destroyed the world... yet... @BookerWholesale is still trading.
Even in an environmental collapse there's still catering, and #chefslarder perseveres.

Of course, what we should be doing is moving towards reusable packaging.
"Compostable" only perpetuates the problem of us creating loads of waste that we only use once.
Check out #KERBPactLunch for our plans for reusing packaging.

Businesses that use compostable packaging, do you know where it's going?
If someone takes away packaging it's unlikely going to reach a compostable-packaging specific bin.
The reality is that it probably doesn't and then gets incinerated...
Compostable packaging needs to be specially collected and processed.
It can't be put in the food waste bin, it can't be put in the recycling bin. It contaminates both!
Is there anyone else other than @firstmile offering it?
