After almost 8 years, I’m saying goodbye to Congress.
It’s been the honor of a lifetime working for @WhipKClark — few leaders possess her integrity, humility, and sense of purpose.
Grateful for the progress made and the many lessons and laughs along the way.
✌🏻
If you're looking for profiles in courage this morning, look no further than the dozen or so swing-district House Republicans who spent weeks writing meaningless letters vowing not to cut Medicaid — only to turn around and enact the largest Medicaid cut in American history.
Tonight, Rep. Katherine Clark got straight to the point on the Capitol steps: Republicans are breaking Medicaid so they can rob it! 🚨
@WhipKClark#HandsOffMedicaid
Katherine Clark: "At the end of the day, it is denial of healthcare for women in this country. And at the same time, we have a White House lamenting, 'Why aren't women having children? Maybe we'll give them $5k' ... the American family is put last."
As Republicans struggle to advance Trump’s budget bill, @WhipKClark joins The Weeknight to break down the devastating consequences of the GOP’s legislation – including potential Medicare cuts of at least $500 billion.
House Dem Whip Katherine Clark mentioned this during caucus this morning.
"You don't have a Rules Committee meeting at 1 a.m. on a bill you're proud of," Clark said.
Clark also said she's whipping a "hell no" on everything this week
MSNBC: I just wonder are these divides within the Republican Party an opportunity for Democrats to get some concessions?
REP. KATHERINE CLARK: We are way past the concession phase here
Today, @HouseDemocrats stopped the GOP from raising overdraft fees, imposing a poll tax on married women, and banning new parents from voting in Congress.
They fought among themselves, gave up, and lost.
We stood strong, stood together, and won.
HELLO from Columbus Nebraska and the only Republican town hall this recess.
I just asked 100+ ppl in line (I have names!) and everyone is from Nebraska. All but two vote in the district.
No one a paid protester.
Back to DC this week.
The @HouseGOP is pushing forward a funding bill that cuts health care, housing, and $23 billion in veterans' benefits.
It would give Trump and Elon the greenlight to continue slashing critical services.
Hard NO.
Clark: Elon Musk makes more in one day than NIH spends all year on childhood cancer research. But that hasn't stopped him from stripping out and defunding that research.
.@sarahwroblewski is fighting for her son's life.
Yet, Republicans are dismantling her greatest source of hope: research for a cure.
Tomorrow, she'll join me for Trump's Joint Address to stand up to the GOP assault on the NIH and the critical services Americans rely on.
BREAKING: House Republicans just passed their billionaire-first budget.
A plan that throws their constituents under the bus to fund tax cuts for their wealthy donors
Not a single Democratic vote.
House Minority Whip Katherine Clark:
"Republicans are making life harder and more expensive. They are rigging the system against hardworking families, all to satisfy their billionaire donors."
Nailed it!
