Israel Ministry of Defense Spokesperson's Statement

Under the Achilles Shield agreement, the Israel Ministry of Defense and the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence have agreed on the transfer of Israeli know-how to the Greek companies participating in the program. This covers both operational expertise accumulated over decades of developing and operating air defense systems, and technological support that will enable Greek companies to develop the central command and control software, so that the Greek source code developed under the program, together with any modifications and additions to it, will remain under exclusive Greek control and be tailored to Greek operational requirements.

It should further be emphasized that in recent years, as part of shaping the agreement, a sustained effort was made to advance the transfer of technologies and capabilities to suitable Greek companies, which will be integrated into the production of the architecture to be delivered to Greece.

The claims raised in recent days concerning the source code that underpins Israel’s own operational systems are not relevant to the Achilles Shield agreement, under which a dedicated Greek source code will be built with Israeli support.
