i absolutely hate to do whataboutism because i think it's cringe, but i really cannot unnotice how when things like this happen in any country other than iran, everyone's against it, but when it happens to iranians, everyone's so quick to defend the government and say it's fake.
If this cosplayer was casted, you losers would have called her a man or claim that they casted her for the "trans gaze" or whatever bullshit you lot would come up with.
@IDFVETRAPIST@muixyui And yeah those people who hate on Palestine are horrible, believe me I know them, but they have been tricked and misled, and are blinded by almost 50 years of horrible trauma, they’re not simply some super malicious group for no reason, they are real people
@IDFVETRAPIST@muixyui This is such bullshit, those statistics of Iranian being mostly (Shia) Muslim are famously made up. While there a lot of Iranians who support Palestine, that isn’t determined by their religion.
While I think I understand it quite well, I am in no way an expert and a large part of this does come from personal experience and talking with family, so experts please feel free to step in if I fucked up
Im not asking anyone to forgive the behavior, its bad and needs to be addressed desperately, but I do want people who aren’t from iran to understand where it comes from at least
I know it seems really dumb and simplistic, and well it kinda is, but it’s also fueled by a lot of justifiable hate and anger towards anything regime and/or Islam related (such as Arabs/palestinians, which obviously isn’t justified) and a whole lot of trauma.
