[KS Highway Patrol @kshighwaypatrol]

On behalf of the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) announces the fallen officer escort of Deputy Brandon Gaede from Wichita, Kansas, to Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, Kansas, on July 1. Deputy Gaede died in the line of duty on June 27.

The escort, to include the Kansas law enforcement and larger first responder community, will leave Wichita at approximately noon and travel north on I-135 through Salina. They will continue west out of Salina on I-70 to exit 159, then go north on US-183 to westbound US-36. The escort will enter the city of Phillipsburg from the east on US-36/State Street. During the escort, motorists traveling along this route may experience delays.

“Hello! My name is Heather and I have been a dispatcher for 12 years. My favorite thing about being a dispatcher is being a part of the Tactical Dispatch Team and being able to be deployed with the field units. Also the friends that I have made throughout the years on both sides of the radio. Before I became a KHP dispatcher, I attended Highland Community College and received my associate’s in science for Athletic Training. I also attended Southwest Baptist University for a year. In my free time I am a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT for Dickinson CO Fire District #1. I also enjoy baking, resin crafts, and playing Co-Ed slow pitch softball.”

“Hello! My name is Megan, and I have been a dispatcher for 6 months. My favorite thing about being a dispatcher is knowing that I am helping keep people safe. Before I became a dispatcher, I worked in health and wellness as a Massage Therapist for over 16 years. I also worked as an airport agent at Salina Regional Airport from 2019-2024. My family includes my daughter Finvola, three dogs Bowie, Luna, and Ziggy, my boyfriend Zac and his son in Concordia. In my free time I like to travel for my daughter’s softball, volleyball, and basketball tournaments. When I’m not at my daughter’s events, I enjoy attending and watching college sports, traveling, hiking, gardening, and pretty much anything outdoors.”
