Today we honour the legacy of Edith Monture, the first Indigenous registered nurse in Canada. Monture, a member of the Mohawk tribe was born on April 10, 1890 on Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation near Brantford Ontario.

To all First Nations, Inuit and Métis nurses across Ontario, we appreciate your compassion, leadership, and the culturally safe care you deliver. Thank you. Merci. Miigwech! ❤️
