High level parent involvement in school activities leads to finding random moments like this! Mother & daughter running & walking together at run club. Grateful for all the parent volunteers to help us make this club possible #LifeatLilyB
Today I received a very unexpected and unsolicited call from @RepRamonRomero’s office since I am my HOA’s president. @EpfpTexas staffer was warned he’ll be hearing from me regarding Texas education policy NOT HOA, especially now that I have the attention of his office. 😬
Despite all the variables and unexpected challenges including with the testing system, we were given an additional week to complete testing. Tomorrow will determine if we need it! Yesterday I started with pages of students needing to make up one or both tests! #LifeatLilyB
I am so fortunate to serve some amazing teachers. Despite two short weeks, an high number of absences (10-15%), & school centennial events, we have 1 day remaining in the original MAP growth window and just 2 students needing to make up a test! #LifeatLilyB
Gotta love these kids who share my love of running. Hated that we cancelled practice due to the weather, but my injured knee was grateful for it. Hopefully my fabulous PT has me fixed soon, then it’s back to the afternoon “play” these young runners.
First day of spring semester is in the books! The 5th graders had everyone smiling and laughing in the cafeteria as they started dancing in their seats to the music coming from the kitchen! So beyond grateful for the fun memories #LifeatLilyB
Teachers learning about Hattie’s research. They ranked the strategies in order of growth impact before comparing their ratings to what the research says
MAP growth & MAP reading fluency training and collaboration! Love the great questions teachers have posed and how they are already on top of a couple curveballs we’ve already been given this week! #LifeatLilyB
So grateful for the opportunities 2021 gave me, many doors started to open, some closed slowly, some slammed shut, while the right door opened at just the right time. Grateful for the opportunity to continue to grow and learn while leading teachers.
Day 2 of singing in the halls. Watching and listening (of course joining in) to these kids make my heart happy for these tradition. The younger kids really got into the songs they knew #LifeatLilyB
Day 1 of caroling in the halls. What a fun tradition! Why not get dressed up for the occasion. The littles loved it, until a 1st grader said I looked silly 😂 #LifeatLilyB
Day 1 of run club at Lily B! We are training for the Cowtown Children’s 5k. Combining students, teachers, parents, and one of my favorite hobbies all in one makes my heart overflow with joy! #lifeatLilyB
