We firm these 16 games without too many slip ups and we might be okay. It’s now very very reliant on James & Lavia, which is not good given their injury history
Can’t believe we’re in this situation but I do have faith in us to salvage something
How there wasn’t a deal agreed in principle for SOMEONE is crazy. The Camara deal wasn’t their fault, but they are to blame at the same time
You don’t rely on others, you certainly don’t leave it to the last day. Another rookie mistake, let’s hope it doesn’t bite us
- Knew Enzo was leaving for 4 months
- Got well over £300m in sales
But yet they still let it go to deadline day which ultimately screwed us, it’s a shame because they were having a great window but it’s now been overshadowed. Today was the BlueCo we once hated back in action…
Ah so some fans still believe the myth that dominating possession equals more wins. LOL.
We had 60-70% possession in several of our defeats under Maresca, but I’m sure people conveniently forget that.
🚨 Folarin Balogun transfer from Monaco to Everton off. Deal for 25yo #ASMonaco striker renegotiated after issues during medical & deal sheet submitted; but USA international decided not to proceed + left #EFC training ground without signing @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/uXjWE3Nd95
Man City have recruited very well, but I am slightly worried about how those players will adapt to Maresca and his methods. He sets up extremely well for big games, but has struggled against low blocks. I would not be surprised if City win the league. #MCFC
I think Arsenal will win the league because they are the most stable. Quality defence, quality midfield, same manager and largely the same team. They are favourites, but not heavy favourites because Man City have recruited very well despite losing so many players.
They did all the hard work rebuilding the team, then somehow bottled the easiest tap-in. They knew Enzo would leave and Santos would be sold, yet did NOTHING about midfield depth. How can you be this incompetent? An absolute fucking travesty. #CFC
Beyond frustrating..
All those years had a great team but everyone in the world could see that we lacked a clinical striker/finisher. Ignored that.
Then the same when it was obvious we needed a decent goalkeeper, ignored that.
Then it was obvious we needed a proper manager.. same story
And now we have a proper frontline, look like a proper team with experience + a good manager.. have a great squad minus our injury prone midfield + key players leaving and OF COURSE didn’t address it till the last second when it was too late.
The transfer window went from a 10/10 to a 5/10 now. Basic and OBVIOUS mistakes.
You can't help certain situations. All you can do is be hopeful. It's an unfortunate situation that we found ourselves in tonight, but let's hope that Barco rises to the occasion.
Camara coming in would've been bad for Barco, but now he has the opportunity to show that we don't need Camara or any midfielder who will be placed above him.
Let's hope it turns into a blessing in disguise for us.
🫣 Jason: "Monaco have absolutely rolled us..."
🤣 Jamie: "Monaco, goooood deal, Jase."
O'Hara was loving it as Cundy gave his reaction to Chelsea's deal for Lamine Camara collapsing
Without cup games its 17 PL games in 17 weeks, 19 in 18 weeks up to 6th Jan
3 midweek cup games, 3 midweek PL games up to Jan 6th.
That's 6 midweek games in 18 weeks at most, and only 3 in the PL.
If Caicedo and Reece are fit, those two play all the league games, only play twice a week three times. Lavia and Barco can also start some league games.
One game a week for 12 out of 18 weeks means we'll be fresher too
Barco, Lavia, Henderson, Watson all there for the midweek cup games.
Yep, Reggie Watson in the league cup. Keep Moises and Reece for the PL games. Trust Barco, play Lavia.
Part of the issue defensively is a new system and Caicedo not playing, Reece didn't even play v Brighton till the second half.
We've got enough till January, then use the Enzo money and get Scott in.
