🚨 New information about the continuation of Michael has officially been revealed by Lionsgate.
During a meeting held yesterday, Adam Fogelson, president of the studio’s motion picture division, confirmed that between 25% and 30% of the sequel has already been filmed. He also revealed that many important parts of Michael Jackson’s life and career were left out of the first movie.
According to him, the continuation may revisit different phases of the artist’s journey without necessarily following a chronological order, creating room to explore iconic eras such as Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, and Invincible, as well as major world tours and significant moments from Michael’s personal life.
With more than $700 million earned worldwide, Michael continues to establish itself as one of the biggest cinematic phenomena of 2026, raising audience anticipation even higher for the next chapters of the King of Pop’s story.
MICHAEL is now tracking to cross $800 million worldwide this Memorial Day weekend.
Domestically, it’s on track for its best hold of the run, with only a ~25% drop and $23-$26M by Monday.
