A Mumbai Monorail train near Mysore Colony station developed a minor power supply issue and came to a halt between stations, leaving passengers stranded, officials said. Operations and maintenance teams, along with the fire brigade, rushed to the site to rescue commuters.
Sources indicated the train may have overshot the platform due to excess weight after delays caused overcrowding. Another train sent to tow it also got stuck.
Rescue efforts were underway with BMC medical teams on site, while services between Wadala and Chembur continued on a single line. Further details were awaited.
CM Devendra Fadnavis assured passengers’ safety, urged calm, and ordered an inquiry.
