To give our G5s a preview of secondary school life, we held a Transition Day. They joined classes with secondary teachers and had lunch with our G6-G8s. We were proud to see our G5s grow in confidence in preparation for this exciting new chapter of their learning journeys!

At KIST our G11s present their IB TOK Exhibitions, in which they explore complex questions about how we acquire knowledge, to our G10s, which helps our younger learners gain valuable insight into the TOK course and assessment they will experience next year.

G6 went on an excursion to Kasai Rinkai Park to observe marine ecosystems. Excursions provide our students with valuable opportunities to deepen their understanding of the concepts they study at school through real-world, hands-on experiences.

On April 22 we held our school musical “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” at Koto Cultural Center Hall. The production was a collaborative effort between our afterschool Musical Club and our G4s, who performed as the ensemble cast.

K2s have been conducting science experiments to learn about unique animal characteristics. Recently they simulated how blubber keeps sea animals like orcas warm. Experiences like this highlight the power of hands-on learning, which helps students to make meaningful connections.
To celebrate World Book Day students and staff were encouraged to dress up as their favorite fictional book characters from novels, poems, or even comic books. Thank you to our library and English department for organizing such a fun activity to inspire a love of reading!
On April 13 we held our annual Kindergarten Cross Country event for K1-K3s. K1 ran for a total of 3 minutes, followed by K2 for 4 minutes, and finally K3 for 5 minutes. It was an exciting day, and thank you to all the staff and families who cheered the students on!
From March 30-April 9, G10s participated in a mock IGCSE exam session so that they could experience the process of sitting for formal exams prior to the actual exam session, helping them to be well-prepared as they approach the May 2026 examination session.
Our K3s enjoyed learning about the Holi Festival, a vibrant celebration observed in India. In a hands-on learning experience, they threw colored powders with their friends and teachers in a celebration of the arrival of spring.
With IB DP exams coming up soon, our G12s took part in a day camp at Shimizu Kouen. The trip provided a valuable opportunity for G12s to enjoy outdoor activities, recharge, and build motivation to support them through the final stretch of the IB DP.

Elementary School hosted student-led conferences while Secondary School hosted parent/teacher/student conferences, G10 and G12 art exhibitions, and IGCSE and university information sessions.

Congratulations to the KIST students who received Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards for their achievements in their 2025 iLS and IGCSE examination sessions. 5 KIST students earned the remarkable distinction of Best in the World for iLS Mathematics, an incredible accomplishment!

In Art class, G1s have been exploring upcycling by transforming used tissue boxes into animal hand puppets. By turning everyday waste into imaginative creations, students demonstrated both environmental awareness and artistic skill!

After working with VEX IQ robots, G6s enjoyed designing robots to compete in a "Robo-Sumo" challenge. In teams of 3 they built robots that could stay in the ring while trying to push an opponent out. The hard-fought matches were a fun summative assessment!
