It was a beautiful afternoon for the #OpeningCeremonies of the 2022 @SpecialOlympics! Our athletes, assisted by their teachers and Paw Pals, were celebrated by the entire student body as they paraded outside to participate in their first event! @SONorthCarolina @HCPSNC

Fourth Grade culminated their novel study of "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes" written by Eleanor Coerr with a Japanese Festival this afternoon. They made cherry blossom art, candy sushi rolls and kimono doll bookmarks!

The Kindergarten Cubcat Readiness Rally was a huge success last night. Thank you so much to @HCPSNC, @ncsmartstart and the many community organizations that partnered with us to welcome our newest Cubcats.

First graders in Mrs. Wilson's class and third graders in Mrs. Justus' class worked together during #STEMBuddies this week to engineer egg towers with plastic eggs and #PlayDoh. They had to try to see who could make the tallest, most stable egg tower!

We built strong fences to protect Spookley and his pumpkin friends in case another storm hits the pumpkin patch. We used ramps to roll (and slide) Spookley and his friends into the fence to test it. #stemandliteracy @hescubcats @JTWord111
