@WSBTraffic Reading on the NextDoor app that the cell phone lot at the airport has been closed. Before I head that way for holiday pickups, is this true? I can't find anything definite. It's been several months since I needed to use it.
Prince Harry asked Meghan Markle to marry him on different dates according to whom is answering that question. There is one of Meghan being on the phone in her documentary where she whispers that it's happening, and Harry has a picnic blanket on the grass outside with her dog having two broken front legs.
Honestly, in that version I was much more concerned for her dog than any proposals of marriage.
So I'll go with the first version, since that's the one with which we are most familiar. One November evening when Harry and Meghan were in their cottage at Kensington Palace cooking roast chicken, or trying to they said, Harry got down on one knee and started to ask Meghan if she would marry him.
But she cut him off before he could utter those few words and said, "Yes! Can I say yes now? Yes! Yes! Yes!"
Behind the scenes Queen Elizabeth II wasn't keen on Harry's choice of a bride, since the Palace had done sufficient background checks on Meg, but Harry assured the monarch he would have his way or tell the world the monarchy was r@cist.
Queen Elizabeth acquiesced, thinking Harry was too far down the line of succession for his choice of a wife to matter overly much. Thus their engagement was announced on November 27, 2017.
Harry had explained to Meghan she would have to accept her new royal restrictions and would have guidance ahead of their wedding. Harry claimed he told Meghan, "You know what you're letting yourself in for. It's a big deal and it's not easy for anybody." -Revenge
Meghan and Harry walked out into the Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace at 10:00 in the morning to meet the photographers. Meghan wore a white coat and oversized heels as she leaned into Prince Harry and they smiled for the cameras.
For the rest of the engagement photo shoot Meghan donned a $75,000 Ralph & Russo dress that was sheer. Fashionistas went wild for the glamorous fiancé, and the photographers noticed how tactile the couple was. Meghan rubbed Harry's back as they returned to their cottage.
Then the couple filmed their engagement interview which took a while and was condensed into twenty minutes. Harry came off as genuinely nice and kind, but Meghan cut him off frequently and spoke over his words.
Meghan contradicted herself when she said as an American she really didn't know too much about the royal family or Harry, and then she went on to say there is a global interest in the royals. So which one is it?
Meghan absolutely knew who Harry was long before she made the trip to London as a teen. She had read books on Diana and had wanted to be a princess since she was small. Meghan had done a deep dive into what made Harry tick, and she knew he wanted to be mothered. Meghan wore Diana's perfume to their first encounter/date. She often dresses the way Diana did, but she does so in a slightly creepy way.
During the interview, Harry mentioned how much he missed his mother, Diana, and he thought Diana would love Meghan and be so excited for him. Meghan clenched her jaw and looked down as Harry spoke about Diana. He clearly misses her, and it definitely affects their relationship.
When Harry explained he didn't know who Meghan Markle was and that he had never seen or heard of Suits (a cable tv series with about one million followers, so who can blame him), Meghan looked angry and upset. She followed Harry's assertion about not knowing Meg by stating she had no idea who Harry was. Laughable, but Meg was playing tit for tat. Quid pro quo.
Then Meghan uttered the ridiculous sentences that she only needed to know if he was nice. If Harry was kind.
Meghan already knew the answers to these questions, but many people, especially Americans lapped this up.
I've long heard that many in the British audience could tell something wasn't right, but a large number of people still were very excited to have a woman of color join the royal family.
The last thing noticed by the more astute watchers was the lovebombing Meghan was using on Harry. She gazed at him in an adoring manner and laughed too hard at something Harry had said that wasn't very humorous. Meghan came across to some as disingenuous. This was compared to the interview of Prince William and the then-Catherine Middleton.
Catherine would wait for William to finish speaking before she would begin, and when William made a joke, Catherine did let down her guard and laughed and relaxed at that moment. Catherine had honestly answered the questions, including the tough one about what their temporary breakup had felt like and taught her. Catherine came across as genuine. William and Catherine were adorably in love. Genuinely in love.
During her interview, Meghan said without any prompts, "Catherine has been absolutely wonderful." "Amazing," agreed Harry, "As has William as well. Fantastic support."
Was Harry lying back then, or did he change his story after Meghan had her effect on him over time?
What's sad is Prince William and Catherine the Princess of Wales only ever wanted Harry to be happy. They wanted the best for him, and he got the worst. There are many reasons why their support stopped, and one is the distrust of Meghan and her actions. And now Harry does what Meghan has always done. Leaks. Lies. Planted fake stories and worse.
Back to Harry's engagement to Meghan, they finished their interview and then Meghan was supposed to begin the process of learning how to be a royal and the history, the protocols and so much more. Meghan said she would become a British citizen, too.
Queen Elizabeth had put a fantastic team together to help Meghan get settled and learn. Samantha Cohen, who loved worked for Queen Elizabeth, was Meghan's private secretary. Samantha hired or pulled in nineteen people to work on Meghan's team. Lady Susan Hussey was one of the women who was to advise the American ex-actress.
While Meghan was receiving preferential treatment, she began painting herself as a victim. The press had been enraptured by her and Harry's engagement and had been ecstatic, writing, "(Meghan) was the best thing to happen to The Firm for decades and is more charismatic than the rest of them put together."
Richard Kay, who had admired Diana, wrote, "Meghan could be the next Diana in terms of global appeal." Sarah Vine wrote, "She provides an older, stable presence for the little lost boy...she will be giving up everything to marry the Prince."
This was too much for Samantha Markle to take. Whatever one thinks about Samantha, she was a good half-sister to Meghan. Samantha happily took care of her baby sister, changing diapers, playing with her and babysitting her through the years. But Samantha had also seen her father, Thomas Markle, adore and fawn over Meghan in a way he had never done with Samantha or Thomas Jr.
Samantha spoke out about her sister, but it was Meghan's closest and longest best friend from childhood into their 30's, Ninaki Priddy, who delivered the most punishing blow, "Princess Pushy gets exactly what she wants and Harry has fallen for her play. She has always been fascinated by the Royal Family. She wants to be Princess Diana 2. She will play her role ably, but my advice to him is to tread carefully." -Revenge
The victim narrative Meghan started (and has not stopped) after the engagement was announced was over her treatment by the press, because not everyone was thrilled by her. This next quote is a flat out lie. "I've never been part of the tabloid culture (true, she wasn't important enough to be) and lived a relatively quiet life." Okay, let's stop here for a second. Meg is nothing if not loud and intrusive. Her views are supposed to supersede all other views, or she'll have a tantrum and pout.
Meghan lived as an unsuccessful actress until Suits, and before that she was a briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal, and also a yacht girl and a Soho girl. Meghan had wanted to be loud and noticed, so the poor-me attitude was total nonsense.
Meghan was also not being a very good pupil when it came to learning how to be a supporting royal. Meg would always be a supporting royal, and she needed to make the monarch and monarchy look good. Meghan didn't want that at all.
"I do not see (marrying Harry) as giving anything up. I see it as a change. It is a new chapter." Meghan never knew how much that attitude would cost her, and she is still paying. -Revenge
I'll end Engagement part 1 on this: Meghan ate up the positive press, and she told her Palace staff that her popularity was due to how unique she was. Meghan had thought she was special since her father taught her she was. Meghan thought she was finally discovered to be that special person and would be adored no matter what.
Harry told his fiancé that Diana's stardust was falling on her. And nobody dared to tell Miss Meghan Markle she was special only because she was marrying into the royal family. Meghan's specialness was due to her being engaged to Prince Harry, a wildly popular royal.
On her own, Meghan was still nobody. But since she was marrying the Prince Harry, that little boy who walked behind his mother's coffin that terrible day in September 1997, she was new and liked and special.
I'm going to stop here.
All the bad signs were already in place from the beginning. Why didn't Harry heed his family's advice? How did Meghan woo Harry? How much research did she do? What is wrong with the couple that they bothered the late Queen and Prince Philip from the start? Why did Meg take secret photos of certain royals without approval? Why did Meghan think she could get away with it? Why is she treating her father so deplorably?
It's overwhelming to contemplate the dark soul residing within Meghan. I'm setting this out so more people might become aware of how purposefully hurtful and cruel Meghan is. I think she has no conscience, but that's my opinion. I also think she's an evil presence in this world, but again, one does not have to agree with me.
It is the facts that need to be studied. Facts do not lie.
More to come. Though I need to write about good royals, since this one was tough to get through.
I hope you have a wonderful day/evening/night wherever you are.
