It has an incentive problem.
As long as losing helps your future more than winning, teams will lose on purpose.

I’ve been a Carolina basketball fan my whole life. They have to be the best program of all time that consistently has multiple rotation guys who can’t play any offense. Caleb Wilson out there by himself.
I hate everything about how Carolina managed that defensive drive. Time was never going to be an issue for LA. Carolina should have been playing tight coverage and force LA to make play. If they’re going to score they’re going to do it fast has to be the logic.
The defenseless receiver rule is awful. Stafford missed the throw up the field and his receiver paid the price. DB can’t let the guy catch it, he doesn’t lead with the crown. QB needs to be responsible for not making his guy “defenseless.”
