A 10-year-old girl was kidnapped in broad daylight. Hours later, two garbage collectors saw something that stopped them in their tracks.
It was the silver car police were searching for, sitting alone in the middle of a field. Dion Merrick and Brandon Antoine realized the missing girl could still be inside, so they pulled their garbage truck across the only way out, blocked the car from leaving and called 911.
For the next few minutes, they stayed there with the suspect trapped while police raced to the scene. When officers arrived, they rushed in, arrested the kidnapper and found 10-year-old Jalissa alive inside.
Dion and Brandon were just doing their normal route that morning. But because they were paying attention and refused to let that car leave, a missing 10-year-old girl made it home safely.
Some stories deserve to travel just as far as the bad news does. This is one of them.
UPDATE | A 23-year-old man from Mbare, identified as Canaan, took his own l!fe yesterday.
It is alleged that Canaanβs pastor refused to hand over his wife, whom he had married just last week. Reports say the pastor was demanding that the couple first have a white wedding ceremony, but Canaan was not financially stable enough to afford such a ceremony.
The wifeβs relatives were being influenced by the pastor because the woman was in the pastorβs custody.
After some negotiations, the family was expected to hand over Canaanβs wife on Tuesday night, but this did not happen. Canaan later took his own l!fe.
Canaan left behind a heartbreaking note. ππ
@UebertAngel For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will perform great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones. 25 Look! I have forewarned you.
@daddyhope I appreciate this Zim-USA re-engagement on different areas of the economy. My main concern is on health funding that is ending this month. Does Zim have the capacity to fund the health sector? What measures are in place to transition smoothly from USAID?
@adv_fulcrum Thank you for the insight on Advocate Uriri. Some among the Advocates have accepted the gifts. How does the law of the profession treat such. Advocate Sylvester has accepted and Some non Advocates. How do we view their independence in law?
