Fly guy doing stuff to make #Witchfire @TheAstroCrew awesome. Award winning game/level designer of #BOUNDPS4 @plasticdemo.
VGames = Applied Simulation Theory.
@GarryPNolan@CharlesMullins2 Thats so bad and dumb especially considering its nothing new. That is the same idea basically that was proposed already by Konrad Zuse 56 years ago. Its just physics catching up to IT people, catching up to Wachowskis that were catching up to Spiritualists.
@ericweinstein About Mass/Energy - it doesn't have to be a problem. Real problem could be efficient access to it and stable altering of it.
About smaller than crafts... well, they would emit light n other things from the "mouth" in that state right? Kinda like plasma orbs, sphere lightning...
@MickWest Tbh there could be no better cover for stealing from government than a backengineering alien SAP. You pay some hollywood prop makers once, and are set for life.
Either way "we're making progress, keep funding" is probably why pentagon cannot pass an audit for the last decade+
@georgebsocial I think it's one of two things:
- pressure from the big boys because their games are not selling (Loosing their portfolio could affect their bottomline).
- some response to rising avg age of steam user, above what was expected.
Its about time for a new banger made by Valve ...
@TheMirzaBeig Not in video game, and not super realistic - but Damian Nenows PATHS OF HATE animation had a very clever very fast solution based on Vertex Color for tests that would be doable in RT now i think

New dev diary just dropped!
Get your first look at Witchfire's dialogue system, check out more weapons coming with Revelations, and spot a few hints of things yet to come.

ILL just looks too good to be true RN.
I want it to be exceptional but the realist in me fully expects some sort of janky n sluggish FPP corridor shooter with "just" world-class animation direction that puts whole AAA industry to shame quality wise.
Hell of a first game tho.
The only problem with the new banger by Sony Santa Monica Game, is the title.
I'd drop the GoW. Departure from gritty greek tragedy vibe kind of weights it down instead of elevating it.
GoW as a franchise imo fits Inanna/Ishtar more - Bad bih that killed gods n fucked around.
Sony just drank too much after their ps4 supremacy era.
IMO those are direct consequences of decisions made 10+ years ago.
Remember when platform holders got high on the GaaS supply ? - RN the hangover hits - and it hits hard.
This is essentially how I left EA. When we finished development on the first Alice game, I went traveling. While on vacation in India I got the news that EA had laid off my creative partner, RJ Berg. And that they'd pulled the console development contract from Alice developer, Rogue Entertainment (which killed the studio).
I was asked to come back so that I could begin my next phase of existence at EA - being put into some sort of VP training program. Onward and upward!
It was "We're firing all your buddies and promoting you."
So I quit. Left San Francisco entirely. Just said, "I'm done."
Many (MANY) of my friends at EA at that time called me to tell me I was "insane" "crazy" and demand I explain wtf I was doing. For a lot of them, explaining that I felt moving up the ladder on the backs of my fired friends was unacceptable, just made no sense. "That's how the game works." "Stick around and you'll be rewarded."
Well, the reward is that I am sitting here 25 years later not feeling like a jerk for taking the wrong path.
