Apart from a couple of signature Vijay moments, “One Last Dance” and the interval action block(which genuinely had me cheering), almost every other creative decision was a complete misfire.

From choosing H. Vinoth to helm an out-and-out commercial masala film, to Bobby Deol’s atrocious villain track, and finally the robot war in the never-ending climax… it was an exhausting watch.

Picking a story with a social message?..Nice.
Using it for a political campaign?!…I get it, Understandable.
Adding the mafia, robots, the army, and a war?…Unbearable. 🙏

It’s the kind of horror film you’d want to watch with your partner or friends for the scares.

A decent love story with both hard-hitting and heartwarming moments.

It’s engaging for the most part. The first half is particularly strong, with well-established characters and a conflict that lays a solid emotional foundation.

The second half dips slightly and, much like Baby, makes a few narrative choices that may divide audiences. That said, it gives both Kiran Abbavaram and Gouri Priya plenty of moments to shine. The graveyard scene and the sequence that justifies the protagonist’s name are particularly well-written and beautifully performed.

There are a couple of beautiful songs, and Mani Sharma’s refreshing score complements the film really well.

If you’re okay with a slow pace and a slightly poetic, melodramatic touch, it’s definitely worth giving a shot. 👍

Imagine a muscular blonde guy crash-landing on Earth, searching for his weapon so he can wield it and return home.

I know what you’re thinking… Thor!?⚡

Nope. It’s Masters of the Universe. 😄

They even cast Idris Elba in a role very similar to ‘Heimdall’, the one he played in Thor, so I guess the film is pretty self-aware.

Either way, it’s entertaining. 👍

Van Helsing is one of my all-time favourites.

It’s my go-to film whenever I’m bored. I’ve probably watched it… what, 20–25 times!? 😅

And the funniest part? I didn’t even know its actual name until maybe my fifth watch.

To me, it’ll always be “Dheyyala Kota”, the Telugu dubbed title I grew up with. ❤️

As much as I enjoyed the stunning visuals, my biggest issue with #TheOdyssey is that all the things that left me in awe when I first read the story of Ulysses in my school textbook as a kid : the fantasy, the monsters, the mythical elements were stripped of their magic.
