@Rjthunder2 @latestinspace The big stuff is tracked so that rockets can be steered around it. The micro stuff hits satellites, rockets, and the ISS all the time. Usually the impacts don't hit anything vital, but ever once in a while the people on the ISS have to plug leaks.

@evanpcox @BirdPerHour The reason I remembered seeing the original is because the photographer explained that it's a composite image. The birds were genuinely on the fence... but not all at the same time.

@ShadowAfrican @latestinspace On the the right side, that bit of brown is the Sahara. North of that is Spain, but it's mostly obscured by clouds. The rest of Europe and all of Asia is on the far side and not visible.

@idragonlord @latestinspace I've seen a picture of a satellite taken by another satellite in low Earth orbit. It was so ridiculously small in the picture, I wouldn't have noticed it if it hadn't been pointed out to me by someone else.
