The Scientific Mistake That Public Health Refuses to Admit https://t.co/Mn3XpUHklm via @YouTube
Every hero eventually disappoints someone.
Not because they’re evil.
Not because they’re stupid.
Because changing your mind has a cost.
To acknowledge that COVID still poses serious long-term risks would require many people to revisit years of assumptions, decisions, public statements, and personal behavior.
That’s not just updating a belief.
That’s rewriting part of your identity.
And for most people, denial is cheaper than reconstruction.
@DrInfoSec
All our colleagues and idols eventually disappoint on this issue. They have to. To affirm our stance that Covid is still dangerous to everyone, and that the only way to protect oneself (apart from waiting for drastic infrastructure changes, etc) is to mask… would go against everything they’ve been doing and would mean they’d need to reprocess everything they’ve misinterpreted and every wrong calculation they’ve made. It’d mean changing their identity. It’d mean saying bye bye to their ego.
Denial is the easier drug of choice.
Angus Taylor tells Sky After Dark viewers it was a “mistake” for any Libs to distance themselves from Trump & MAGA at the 2025 election.
“You won’t see me doing it!”
Angus wants this to stay in the late-night Sky vault. Please share so mainstream Aussies also find out. #auspol
As I look around
it saddens me
to realize how much
faith I have lost
in experts
And as I look around
it saddens me
to realize how much
faith I have lost
in institutions
But as I look around
what saddens me
the most
is realizing how much
faith I have lost
in other people.
