For å si det sånn: Livet består ikke av de dagene som er talte, men de dagene man husker. Til daglig er jeg småbarnspappa, bergenser, mosjonist, jurist.. m.m.
The US founded Nato and groomed it for 80 years. What did it get out of it?
1) Allied assistance after 9/11: first Article 5 ever. Unconditional support in Afghanistan for 20 years. Military bases, training grounds for unique environments, intelligence sharing from countries who were much closer to the declared enemies.
2)a vast market for US defense industry, monopolized to a large degree due to claims that only US equipment works in tandem with other allies.
3) a secure and loyal beachhead for trade and commerce through decades.
4) near automatic support from allies in the UN Security Council.
5) enormous amounts of soft power bonus. Not far back every European looked to America as a destination for trade, education, tourism etc.
Now, all of that is going or gone! Trump has cancelled NATO and transatlantic goodwill.
@InaHPKvam@Veteransforukr1 Blir det tilsvarende arrangement igjen snart? Det var jo en suksess sist. Jeg kan i så fall mobilisere en del folk til denne saken 😎😎👍
@elonmusk I live in Norway and own a Tesla. The car is popular in Norway, but could sell more if Elon Musk wasn't an extremist. I wrote an article about it in one of Norway's largest newspapers: My Tesla Stinks
1/6 Putin in Alaska
Putin flying to Alaska to meet Trump isn’t diplomacy, it’s a sell-out for Ukraine. For the invaded nation, the symbolism is brutal, not neutral ground, but U.S. soil, with a U.S. president who’s already been dangling “concessions” Ukraine never agreed to.

@onlydjole Fun fact: Life expectancy for men in Russia is 66 years. The population is falling faster than Russian fighter jets falling from the sky. Russia is a dying state. There is nothing enduring in that country. If NATO was involved, you would see F-35s in the skies over Ukr
❗️If Trump agrees to Putin’s terms (to give up Donbas and other lands), it will be a repeat of the failed Munich Agreement of 1938 — which, at one time, allowed Nazi Germany to absorb all of Czechoslovakia and prepared the ground for World War II.
According to the Munich Agreement, British Prime Minister Chamberlain, without consulting the Czechs, handed over the Sudetenland — a region of then-Czechoslovakia that was heavily fortified and defended — to Hitler. In return, Chamberlain received only empty promises of “peace for our time.”
For now, it looks like Putin is simply trying to achieve at the negotiating table what his troops could not achieve on the ground — capturing Donbas in 10 years, WP concludes.
@Tendar Ukraine has already won. They stood up to a Russian assault that Putin thought would be over in 3 days. Ukraine has shown the world courage, strength and wisdom.
