@MajorStranger2 @annainjozi@hankgreen Also Brandon Sanderson isn't the *only* fantasy author. A good one if others are to be believed but not the only one and not the standard by which fantasy novels are determined.
@MajorStranger2 @annainjozi@hankgreen As an avid fantasy and romance reader I promise you that her "smut" scenes don't come to the same level as a romance novel and her books better align with the fantasy books I've read (which have included sex! And honestly some that is more explicitly described).
@annainjozi@hankgreen Agreed! As seasoned romance and fantasy novel reader I always joke about the "romantasy" books being "[p]orn" but when it comes down to it I tell people it's a fantasy book with a romance subplot because it's *not* a romance novel and they shouldn't expect it to read like one.
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho Learning data, then ChatGPT will run with it.
Finally, her thread demonstrated anxiety WASN'T the correct diagnosis and that she had been pushing back on the doctors for the same exact assumption. So ChatGPT was WRONG.
Hope this was educational. 8/8
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho 6) Then you add that there is documented bias in the medical community both presently and historically to dismiss women's concerns as being over exaggerated. Again, ChatGPT will be learning from the existing data it has access to. If this KNOWN bias in the community is in its 7/x
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho But doesn't include females in their data and hasn't been updated to do so. If ChatGPT is pulling that information, that's a pretty significant bias in the learning data (as I previously pointed out to you). 6/x
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho 3) Medical research data is skewed to favor men. This is just known in the medical community because women weren't widely included in studies until 1986ish and as you noted male and female bodies are different. As such there's a lot of research out there that is the standard 5/x
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho ChatGPT's entire goal is to have a conversation with you that FEELS natural. Its going to use it's learning data to provide you the information it believes is correct (doesn't make it correct) and feels like an organic sentence construction that is all 4/x
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho 2) ChatGPT is a natural language AI NOT a search engine. That means it's going to provide you an answer not the correct answer. It may try to provide you the correct answer but it's not trying to ensure that you have the correct answer. 3/x
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho This is just KNOWN in tech. That doesn't even account for the hallucination that programs like ChatGPT does when it doesnt know the answer because it wasnt provided the information in its learning data set. Critical point. ChatGPT is a natural language AI NOT a search engine 2/Γ
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho Oh my dude I hate to be the "I know more than you" person but I do so here it is.
1) there are multiple examples that are used in ethics and method classes in tech fields about how AI is only as good as the person who programs and trains it. This is why facial recognition 1/Γ
@shycollie@Dee_Camacho [Tech Professional] What she is highlighting for you (and you missed) is the (known) failing of any neuro-network machine learning based program. The conclusions are limited by its learning data... which will reflect various implicit biases. I.e. the sexist ones of medical data.
Lawrence Makoare is so iconic in the LOTR/Hobbit movies and deserves more fame for his ability to create iconic characters. The breadth in his performances of Lurtz, Gothmog, Bolg, AND the Witch King of Angmar. Just ICONIC.
