Excited to share our new paper, out today in @ScienceAdvances! We surveyed 3 species of octocorals in the Florida Keys over 2+ years. Despite widespread bleaching in 2014-15, octocorals were resilient, showing low mortality during and after bleaching. https://t.co/8C4U6tO9J7

Ultimately, the resilience of these octocorals in the face of an extreme bleaching event points towards what might be a new future for Caribbean reefs, particularly as reef building scleractinians continue to decline.
