22 years ago tonight, September 23, 2001, the Jets linebacker blasted Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe (at the 18:03 mark of the video) as he tried to scramble for a first down with 5:11 left in the 4th quarter and the Jets ahead 10-3. After being attended to on the sideline, Bledsoe returned for the next series but was ineffective -- he turned out to be seriously injured with internal bleeding -- and was replaced by the Pats' sixth-round draft pick from the 2000 draft, Tom Brady.
