It’s patience without expectation, support without control. It’s meeting them where they are, not where we think they should be.

Rather than stepping in to fix, we pause. We observe gently, listen deeply, and respond with calm. We don’t judge the meltdown, the withdrawal, or the repetition. We understand that behaviour is communication.
When we include them in decisions making, we stop assuming and show genuine interest in what they need. That's how we can authentically improve the support system.
